China Energy has launched the Shuaibah Solar Power Plant in Jeddah, establishing it as the Middle East’s largest solar facility with a capacity of 2.6 GW, according to China Energy.

The village, located about 30 miles northwest of Riyadh, had no electric supply at the time. The station is operated by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
